The Magical Oz Adventure Of UTS-ers
“There’s no place like home” – A seemingly simple phrase, yet it served as the emotional anchor throughout Dorothy’s journey home in the musical play The Wizard of Oz – A Musical Adventure, performed last Friday at UTS. The story of a young girl lost in a strange land is also a lesson in courage, friendship, and believing in oneself.
With the guidance of their teachers, more than 50 students from various grade levels brought each character to life in English, blending acting, music, and stage movement. From heartfelt scenes to lively performances, the students truly captivated the audience’s hearts.
The School Play is one of the standout activities in the Performing Arts program at UTS – a space where students hone their acting skills, develop empathy for characters, practice teamwork, and express emotions on stage. Notably, the entire program is taught in English, and UTS is among the few schools that offer this subject across all grade levels.
