International Pathway

The International Pathway at UTS integrates the Oxford International Curriculum (OIC) with the Vietnamese National Curriculum. From Grade 1 to Grade 8, students build a solid foundation in academic English, Mathematics, Science, Global Citizenship Skills Projects, Well-being, and Performing Arts through subjects delivered with an international orientation. This is an important stage where students become familiar with learning in English, while developing their ability to analyse, express opinions, and solve problems.

From Grade 9 to Grade 12, students continue their international academic pathway through globally recognised subjects and qualifications such as GCSEs and A-Levels. The International Pathway helps students gradually prepare for university and global learning environments.

This stage helps students build a balanced learning foundation between the Vietnamese curriculum and international academic standards.

From Grade 10 to Grade 12, students continue their international orientation through the Advanced Placement (AP) programme. Through university-level advanced subjects, the Bilingual Pathway helps students expand their academic capabilities, strengthen their learning profiles, and prepare for a wide range of post-secondary options.

What Is Project-Based Learning? Exploring a Modern Educational Approach at UTS

In the context of today’s constantly evolving education landscape, Project-Based Learning (PBL) has become one of the approaches adopted by many international schools to support students’ holistic development. At UTS International School of South America, students do not only acquire knowledge from textbooks, but also take part in real-world projects, actively explore ideas, and create their own learning products. So, what is project-based learning, and how is it applied to optimise students’ learning outcomes? This article will help parents and students better understand this learning model. What Is Project-Based Learning (PBL)? Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centred educational approach in which students actively explore, research, and solve real-world problems through learning projects. Instead of only learning theories, students combine knowledge with practical experiences to develop thinking skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.. Project-Based Learning is becoming increasingly popular in modern education The 5-Step Cycle of a Learning Project (*) A learning project following the Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach is often implemented through a clear process, helping students gradually transform knowledge into practical products. Below are the key steps: Step 1: Identifying Ideas and Driving Questions Students begin with a real-world problem or a guiding question under the teacher’s guidance, then define the goals and scope of the project. Step 2: Planning and In-Depth Research Students divide tasks, search for information, analyse data, and develop a suitable implementation plan. This stage requires students to apply critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Step 3: Implementation, Testing, and Adjustment During the implementation process, students apply what they have learned, test their solutions, and improve their products based on feedback. Step 4: Completing the Practical Product Based on their ideas and research outcomes, students complete products that can be presented, applied, or shared with others. Students create practical models and products in each project Step 5:

UTS House Debate Championship – The arena of argumentation & multidimensional thinking of Primary UTS-ers

Last Friday morning, April 10, 2026, the Primary School House Debate at UTS took place in an exciting and dynamic atmosphere. More than just an academic competition, it was a learning playground where young UTS-ers could grow, learn, and respect one another. Throughout the event, students developed essential skills in listening, critical thinking, and confidently expressing their viewpoints, while fostering a spirit of open-minded and respectful dialogue. At UTS, each House is not only a team but also a representation of a core value that every UTSer strives toward. Each House carries its own unique identity, contributing to a diverse yet united student community. These values were clearly reflected in every debate round, as students actively listened, responded thoughtfully, and respected differing perspectives. This year, teams engaged in timely, future-oriented topics that required deep thinking and multi-dimensional perspectives: In the English debate round, students explored the topic: “It’s better to reduce plastic use than to ban it completely” — presenting diverse viewpoints that balanced practicality and long-term impact in protecting a greener future. In the Vietnamese debate round, students discussed: “Winning is more important than enjoyment” — a seemingly simple question that sparked meaningful reflections on the value of effort and the true meaning of perseverance. The House Debate concluded with many memorable moments, as awards were presented to the most outstanding teams and individuals: Vietnamese Debate Category: 🥇 First Place: Ruby House 🥈 Second Place: Citrine House 🥉 Third Place: Aquamarine House 🌟 Best Speaker: Trần Hoàng Minh (Grade 5, Ruby House) English Debate Category: 🥇 First Place: Emerald House 🥈 Second Place: Ruby House 🥉 Third Place: Sapphire House 🌟 Best Speaker: Trần Vương Minh Khôi (Grade 3, Emerald House) Congratulations to all winning teams!
