Spring Fair 2024: “Tet in 3 regions”

Lunar New Year is an important festival in Vietnamese culture. Tet customs will have many differences amongst the 3 regions of North – Central – South, resulting in an interesting diversity. The UTS Spring Fair 2024 will be held under the theme “Tet in 3 regions” by US Vietnam Talent International School, which aims to reproduce the traditional Tet space of 3 regions of the country through typical folk activities. There are 03 main types of booths in the Spring Fair: – Food booth of 3 regions: Noth – Central – South – Folk game booth (toy figurine – coconut leaf, Dong Ho art print…) – Tet market booth (calligraphy, envelopes) A part of the revenues from each booth in the Spring Fair will go toward the UTS Impact Fund. According to UTS, students learn how to share and have the truest feelings, experiences about the value of Tet, in addition to enjoying themselves and learning about the Lunar New Year.

Interdisciplinary project between Music and Physics: “Homemade musical instruments”

Have you ever wondered what it would be when you integrate Science with Music? Let Grade 11 students bring us into different harmonic rhythm in the project “Music – Physics: Homemade Musical Instruments”  It is a cross-curricular project between Physics and Music, requiring UTS-ers to understand sound waves and music theory to create musical instruments such as Guitar, Xylophone, Lyre and Bottle Marimba from recycled materials. The effort and meticulousness of UTS-ers has successfully wrapped up the project with a spectacular concert with exciting sounds just simply made from basic materials.

“Shark Tank” project

Simulating a pitching session in the business field, the Shark Tank project organized by the International Program is a chance for Grade 9 “entrepreneurs” to confidently present their amazing business ideas to the “Sharks” – the UTS teachers.  With the goal of “from learning to doing” by applying theoretical knowledge to handle real-word situation, the UTS Community Project 2023 provides an opportunity for UTS-ers to observe the surrounding world and learn how to “analyze social issues”. Furthermore, by doing this, students can acknowledge their role and responsibilities toward life, absorb the knowledge of humanity and learn how to show empathy and cultivate compassion following the “Contribution” value – one of the six core values of UTS.

US Vietnam Talent International School (UTS) is honored to be the first school in Ho Chi Minh City certified as an OxfordAQA Centre, offering an internationa study programme with GCSEs and A-levels qualifications. This milestone empowers UTS students to confidently embrace global integration through a high-quality education foundation. OxfordAQA – A Prestigious International Assessment System from the UK OxfordAQA is an international assessment system established by two leading educational organizations: Oxford University Press (the publishing arm of the University of Oxford) and AQA (the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance in the UK).   At schools certified as OxfordAQA Examination Centres, students can study various subjects and earn GCSEs (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and A-levels (Advanced Level qualifications), giving them a competitive edge when applying to top universities worldwide. The prestige of the OxfordAQA assessment system: AQA is the largest and longest-established examination board in the UK offering GCSEs and A-level qualifications. It is an official partner of over 80 international schools across Asia, Europe, and Africa. 61% of students achieve A and A+ in Mathematics in the A-level program. 74.8% of students score 7+ in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Computer Science in the GCSE program.   UTS officially becomes the first OxfordAQA Centre in Ho Chi Minh City     At the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year, US Vietnam Talent International School (UTS) proudly received certification as the first OxfordAQA Examination Centre in Ho Chi Minh City. With this achievement, UTS is now able to offer GCSEs and A-levels in line with UK standards, providing students with access to a high-quality international education. Natural Sciences and Social Sciences cross-curricular project

Grade 9 UTS-ers have effectively applied the learned theory into practice, to fully appreciate the beautiful architecture of the Independence Palace through the magical perspective of mathematics.  It is a combination of knowledge between Natural Sciences and Social Sciences which are the two seemingly conflicting subjects yet also harmoniously creating a new and interesting learning experience. Valuing the ancient grace through outdoor measuring tools, UTS-ers have discovered interesting features of architectural building which aged more than hundreds of years old.

“Home is not the only family” is a project of UTS Secondary students with the desire to create a close-knit UTS Community where every member is a part of it. Each activity, each challenge is intended to strengthen the team spirit, teamwork ability and help students realize the potential power of the connections around them.  “Individually, we may seem like a single drop of water, but when united, we become a vast ocean” Hopefully, every member of the UTS family will always stay together and support each other. Only then we will have sustainable strength.

“Automation for Eco-Friendly Environment” project

As part of the Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences – STEM project, Secondary school UTS-ers have spent 4 weeks brainstorming ideas and building a machine learning model to generate positive impacts on the environment. Some impressive projects were presented at the results announcement event including automatic vacuum cleaner, automatic watering system, air pollution alert system, smart trash bin… Through the “Automation for Eco-Friendly Environment” project, Secondary level UTS-ers have honed their abilities in researching, designing, model manufacturing, programming, and teamwork toward common goals. All these competencies assist students in perfecting 21st century skills and becoming global citizens.

Topping-out ceremony of UTS Saigon South campus – a bilingual International K-12 School

With the mission “Growing Talent With Care”, UTS continues our journey of nurturing talented students at the new campus: UTS Saigon South – a billingual International K-12 school located in Phong Phu 5 Residential Area, Binh Chanh, Ho Chi Minh City.  On July 1, 2024, the project officially reached the topping out stage for the Primary and Kindergarten campuses, marking a promising new milestone for a high-quality, comprehensive educational project in the southern part of the city.      Topping Out Ceremony of UTS Saigon South Campus: A Promising Educational Project  UTS Saigon South Campus is the third campus of the leading bilingual school system in Ho Chi Minh City. The campus is built in Phong Phu 5 Residential Area, Binh Chanh, one of the central locations in the area, connecting major urban districts such as District 8, District 5, and District 7.  The ceremony, attended by representatives from partner units, Board of Directors of Van Lang Education Group, and staff of UTS, was a great success, marking a new milestone for the entire UTS Community with a promising educational project.      During the ceremony, Mrs. Bui Thi Van Anh, Vice President of the Board of Directors of Van Lang Education Group and Chairman of the Board of Van Lang University, emotionally shared: “It has been exactly 81 days since the groundbreaking ceremony. The project has progressed at an incredible pace, measured by days and hours, day by day marking significant progress. This remarkable pace is not only a testament to the close coordination among all relating units but also the result of extraordinary efforts from all parties involved, regardless of sun or rain, day or night.
